Styles range from traditional 1960s builds to modern New England type villas. Nestled in the middle of this wonderful road is a beautiful Art-deco style house.
The new owner remodelled the property from the ground up and CB Iron was initially enlisted to help with upper level handrails, designed uniquely to fold away. After developing a good relationship with the owner of this wonderful property, Christopher was invited to design additional aspects.
Respecting the art-deco design components of the house, a rising sun design was included in the property’s double drive entrance gates, and matching pedestrian gate. The central feature of these gates is a copper rising sun. The owner loved the rising sun design so this was extended to a rear fire pit. The high temperature of the fire pit and coastal location meant Corten (the same bones as our very own Angel of the North) was the perfect material.
The Corten theme continues throughout the garden. A unique sphere was created as centre point as well as some practical aspects, including a log store and table. The rich orange of the Corten adds a wonderful colour to this beautiful white building.
